Haematology Diseases

Skåne University Hospital have a long history of treating patients with advanced blood and immune system diseases. We provide highly specialized care for conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other disorders affecting the bone marrow.

One of our core areas of expertise is hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Transplantation is performed using stem cells from a suitable donor, which may be a fully HLA-matched sibling, a well-matched unrelated donor, or, in many cases, a half-matched (haploidentical) family member. Since 1998, we have successfully performed haploidentical HSCT, making transplantation possible for almost all patients who are medically eligible. Our stem cell transplantation programme is internationally accredited by JACIE, reflecting the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
