As a specialist training dentist in oral prosthetics, you will gain in-depth knowledge on how to replace lost tissue with prosthetics of various kinds. This is a speciality characterised by diagnosis and treatment of patients who have complex tissue loss in the teeth, jaw or face due to e.g., trauma, congenital, hereditary diseases, or conditions. The goal of the treatment is to recreate function, comfort, and aesthetics.
The field of competence includes:
- advanced knowledge of dental materials,
- knowledge of toxicology,
- advanced knowledge of oral motor function and parafunction,
- knowledge of psychology, phonetics, and aesthetics,
- advanced bite rehabilitation.
